On October 22, the City of Moreno Valley held a groundbreaking ceremony for the highly anticipated expansion of its Senior Center, marking a significant step forward in enhancing services for its senior population.
“This expansion reflects our deep commitment to enriching the lives of our senior residents by investing in a center that will serve generations of seniors for years to come,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera. “Moreno Valley’s senior community has done so much for us throughout the years, and this is just one way we can give back. We’re excited to provide more space for them to gather, enjoy programs, and connect with each other.”
The eagerly awaited project will add 4,540 square feet to the existing facility, including a 922-square-foot covered breezeway connecting to the new building on the south side of the current Senior Center.
Once completed in late 2025, the enhanced facility will offer modern amenities, such as a projector, sprung wood flooring, ADA-compliant walkways, and parking lot improvements. A new 492-square-foot patio cover will also be added to the northwest corner, expanding outdoor space for social activities.
The new construction will allow various programs to better meet the diverse needs of Moreno Valley seniors, including fitness classes, social gatherings, creative workshops, and educational opportunities.
Moreno Valley’s Senior Center has long been a vital part of the community, and this new addition solidifies the city’s commitment to providing essential services and a sense of belonging to its senior population.
