At just 17 years old, Deanna Sandoval is already making her mark both in the classroom and on the field. A Senior at Grand Terrace High School, Deanna maintains an impressive 4.3 GPA while balancing a demanding schedule of academics, athletics, and extracurricular involvement.

Deanna’s athletic journey began at an early age. She has been playing sports since she was four years old and currently competes on the Grand Terrace High School girls soccer team, where she plays as an outside back and center midfielder. Her versatility, awareness, and work ethic have made her a key contributor to the Lady Titans’ success.

This season, Deanna was selected as Team Captain, a role she takes seriously. One of her greatest strengths as a leader is her deep understanding of her teammates’ abilities, allowing her to anticipate plays and work seamlessly with those around her. She especially values playing defense alongside her best friend, Kalia Williams. Their strong chemistry and trust in the field allow them to cover for one another effectively, a dynamic that proved especially impactful during their most recent game against Bloomington High School. Beyond team practices, Deanna also dedicates her own time to conditioning and strength training to continue improving her performance.

Deanna’s accomplishments extend well beyond the soccer field. She was part of the team that won the Sunkist League Championship in 2024. Academically, she has earned Principal’s Honor Roll recognition all four years of high school and participated in the ACES program during her Freshman and Senior years as a scholar athlete. She also serves as Senior Class President and is the National Honor Society Historian, demonstrating her commitment to leadership and service.

Outside of sports and school, Deanna enjoys spending time with friends and, of course, continuing to play soccer.

When asked who inspires her most, Deanna shared, “I would say my parents. They’re always there for me and encouraging me to be better and do better, and they take time out of their days to help me succeed.”

Looking ahead, Deanna plans to attend a four year university where she hopes to major in Kinesiology and eventually pursue a career as a Sports Medicine Physician.

One of her favorite quotes reflects the values she carries with her each day: “Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14.

Watching Deanna’s growth over the past year has been nothing short of inspiring. With her talent, determination, leadership, and strong support system, she is poised to continue excelling both on and off the field. The future looks incredibly bright for this Lady Titan and we wish her all the best.
