Dear Moreno Valley Residents,
Monday, September 5, is Labor Day, where we honor and celebrate the workers that make our beautiful country what it is today.
Here in Moreno Valley, our workforce has built buildings, cared for the sick, and united to create a vibrant local economy. And with our programs like Hire MoVal and our Community Workforce Agreement, we have ensured Moreno Valley workers get a fair shake in the hiring process.
As I reflect on the holiday, I am also thankful for our hard-working and award-winning public servants at the City of Moreno Valley, who have made our city the jewel of the Inland Empire.
Public service is often a thankless job, but we do it because we want to see our city thrive and better the lives of our neighbors. Often, my City Staff works beyond regular business hours, on weekends and holidays, because City business does not take a day off. Our Staff goes the extra mile!
As designated disaster service workers, it is Moreno Valley’s City Staff that roll up their sleeves and get to work for our community during events like Pandemics, floods, and other major emergencies.
And with a smaller per capita workforce than neighboring cities, our Moreno Valley employees wear many hats. I am immensely proud of my team, who does whatever it takes to get the job done.
I am thankful each and every day for their hard work and dedication in making Moreno Valley the city Where Dreams Soar.
From all of us at the City of Moreno Valley, Happy Labor Day!
