As the sun sets and the Sanctuary fills with anticipation, music will once again bring the community together at Loma Linda University Church. On Thursday, March 14, at 5:00 p.m., the Loma Linda Academy Wind Symphony, under the direction of Michael Pichette, will present a vespers concert designed to inspire reflection, connection, and awe through the power of live music.

The Wind Symphony has become a familiar and welcome presence in the Sanctuary, and last year’s performance offered a glimpse into the depth of talent and commitment within the ensemble. That concert featured a thoughtfully paced program, expressive ensemble playing, and a strong sense of purpose that resonated throughout the space. The students’ focus, musical balance, and unified sound created an atmosphere well suited for worship and quiet reflection — an experience many attendees still remember.

This year’s vespers concert continues that tradition, inviting listeners into an evening shaped by musical intention and spiritual calm. The program highlights the ensemble’s continued growth while honoring the reflective nature of vespers, offering moments of strength, warmth, and stillness. Performed in the Sanctuary’s resonant acoustics, the music is meant not only to be heard, but felt.

More than a concert, the event reflects a shared commitment between Loma Linda Academy and the University Church to support young musicians and celebrate the role of the arts in community life. Families, church members, students, and neighbors are invited to gather, pause, and experience a meaningful close to the day through music.
