The West Valley Water District (WVWD) is proud to announce that Director Kelvin Moore received the 2023 Norris McDonald Living Legacy Award from the Inland Valley News at its 2023 Living Legacy Awards Reception. The Norris McDonald Living Legacy Award is presented to an individual who is dedicated to protecting the environment, enhancing human, plant ecologies, and increasing African American participation in the environmental movement.

“I am honored and humbled to have received this award and grateful for the opportunities I have been given to serve my community,” said Director Moore, “I want to provide my heartfelt thanks to Inland Valley News for honoring me in this way and hope to continue my work at the West Valley Water District and other service groups that I am a part of, to the utmost benefit of those we serve.”

The Living Legacy Awards is a community program hosted by the Inland Valley News, to celebrate the achievements and contributions of distinguished individuals whose impact and imprint have helped to make this community strong.

Director Moore has served WVWD customers since February 2022 as the representative of Division 3, which serves the community of Rialto.

“Director Moore has a heart for servant leadership and this award is a tribute to his propensity to serve his community,” said West Valley Water District President Greg Young. “On behalf of the West Valley Water District Board, I commend Director Moore on this celebration of his great works.”

In addition to serving as a Director at WVWD, Moore serves as Director of Environmental Services for Kaiser Permanente, where he manages the day-to-day operations of the organization’s medical centers and office buildings. He currently serves as a member of the City of Rialto Transportation Commission, is on the board of Fontana Pastors United, and is a former board member of the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Federal Credit Union.
