Paul Rasso is this week’s winner of the City News Group, Inc. $1,000 sweepstakes opportunity drawing! As this week’s winner of the weekly prize giveaway, Rasso has won a delightful dinner from local favorite, Alice’s Restaurant. Rasso earned this tasty treat by submitting an online entry form on the City News Group website. At absolutely no purchase necessary, Rasso comes up with the big win of this week’s prize as well as an opportunity to win the grand prize on December third of $1,000! Local businesses all over the Inland Empire are participating in the sweepstakes opportunity drawing and are giving away free weekly prizes. Submit entries every day by clicking on every ad with the sweepstakes “Bag of Money” icon to win even more weekly prizes and for the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000 on December 3rd, just in time for Christmas.   As a long-time subscriber, Rasso found out about the $1,000 sweepstakes by reading the City News every week and saw the opportunity and decided to enter giving himself something to enjoy especially now because he has been working from home and has some free time. “I've been a subscriber for a while and I love the way you guys print your paper and I enjoy reading the articles,” Rasso said. Rasso is a classified employee for the Colton Joint Unified School District, working with many teachers from across the district. Rasso’s job usually entails him working in the main offices, interacting with many coworkers and CJUSD staff, however, since the COVID-19 pandemic, Rasso is mainly working from home. Many of the programs he needs to work can be accessed from his computer at home. With many schools about to go on summer vacation, Rasso will still be hard at work getting ready for the next school year. “I work year-round and when teachers and students go on summer break, I use that time to catch up on my work,” Rasso said. Rasso loves working with the CJUSD and enjoys seeing how their teachers interact with the students. “Every one of them [teachers] are amazing, how they interact with the children, the care they show for the children and that’s what I enjoy about the Colton atmosphere,” Rasso said. Alice’s Restaurant is thrilled and cannot wait to provide Rasso with a free meal and Rasso was equally excited to know that he had won from this restaurant. “I love that place, it feels really great to win. It is one of my wife and I’s favorite spots,” Rasso said. “I think I’m going to surprise my wife with the free meal.” Alice’s restaurant is located at 867 W Jefferson Street in San Bernardino. They are open Monday through Friday from 6 am-2:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7 am through 2:00 pm. Alice’s is opened for dine-in and to-go options. For to-go orders you may call 909-381-2014. “We are now opened for dine-in and we want to thank everyone for coming in and for the support,” said Alice’s Restaurant.
