Sick N Tired Recovery Home Receives Grant from Walmart DC 6561 Very Easy Decision to Make Says General Manager

On Saturday February 27th, The Sick N’ Tired Sobriety Transformation Recovery Home received a $500 grant donation from the Walmart Distribution Center (DC) ACC#6561 located on Agua Mansa Rd in Colton, CA in celebration of the one-year anniversary  of the center’s opening. The Sick N’ Tired Sobriety Transformation Recovery Home was one of 10 non-profit organizations that received grant funding from the Walmart DC 6561. “Thank You God and Walmart Consolidation Center Colton CA, for this great partnership, we are so honored to be a part of the team, to strive to make a difference in our communities,” said Kathy Williams-Braxton and husband John Braxton. The Sick N’ Tired Sobriety Transformation Recovery Home, owned by Kathy Williams-Braxton, is a recovery residency for adult women to help combat drugs, alcohol and other addictions, helping women achieve sobriety and sustainable recovery long term by treating the human spirit with dignity and compassion. “We look at opportunities to donate locally annually and as they entered their organization and said here’s our plan, here’s our path, here’s what we’re requesting, it seemed very easy to not only include them on our grants for this year but also make them apart of the celebration,” said Daniel Barrera, General Manager of Walmart DC 6561. Kathy Williams-Braxton works side by side with her husband, John Braxton and his organization, Community in Unity. Together the couple works closely to help their community and strive for better living and wellness. They work every third Saturday of the month with the Groceries of Love Food Pantry and other local businesses at the Church of Fire in Christ in Grand Terrace to help distribute food to families in need. John Braxton, who is also a pastor, was invited to the center’s grand opening and ribbon cutting in February 2020 and gave the invocation, opening prayer, for the facility. Braxton remembers the event as exciting, full of celebration, and even nerve-racking, as he stepped in front of about 400 people and flashing camera lights. “He was a big part of the inception of this facility; he was one of our first local contacts in Colton,” Barrera said in regards to Braxton. “We definitely wanted to ensure that he was a part of some of these milestones. He’s been a member of the family since we opened.” “The journey continues with this great partnership with Sick N Tired Recovery Home and Walmart Consolidation Center Colton CA. God has ordered our footsteps to our Destiny,” said Braxton. The Colton Walmart DC 6561 in the last year has shipped over 90 million cases across 27,000 loads, hired 847 associates, supported 33 associates enrolled in Live Better U (Walmart’s education program) and donated $20,000 to local non-profit organizations.
