Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is pleased to promote Justine Rodriguez, APR, MH, to Director of Marketing and Public Relations, effective August 1. Rodriguez served as the Interim Marketing and Public Relations Director since February 2020. She will continue to strategize the medical center’s overall communications both internally and externally, while being responsible for developing marketing materials; managing public relations; serving as the hospital’s public information officer; overseeing digital marketing administration; facilitating physician and hospital staff relations; and proactively interfacing with community groups, government agencies, and elected officials. Rodriguez most recently held the position of Media Specialist II at ARMC. She joined ARMC in 2008, and over the course of her tenure with ARMC she has been instrumental in guiding the organization’s communications to various constituents, while creating content and collateral to effectively convey key messaging across different mediums.  Most recently, as a member of the COVID-19 Task Force, Rodriguez led ARMC’s COVID-19 communications strategy, which included creating daily pandemic updates, developing graphics, signage, banners, and creating brochures and other deliverables for Skilled Nursing Facilities for COVID-19 preparation and response. In collaboration with the hospital’s Information Management team she developed a new website with a dedicated COVID-19 resource page for ARMC. “Justine has established herself as an exceptional communicator with a deep understanding of the unique needs of an academic institution, and has demonstrated her leadership qualities in contributing to the growth and achievements of ARMC,” said ARMC Hospital Director, William Gilbert. “Her wealth of experience with more than a decade of working in ARMC’s marketing department and the results she has delivered, combined with her integrity and commitment, make her an ideal choice to lead the communication efforts for ARMC.”  Rodriguez holds an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), and has extensive crisis communications training from the California Specialized Training Institute (CSTI) California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES); the National Disaster Preparedness Training Center; FEMA Emergency Management Institute; and the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Office of Emergency Services. She is a member of the hospital’s EPIC Advisory Council actively leading the EPIC electronic health record communications strategies; and is a member of the California Association of Public Information Officers (CAPIO) and serves on its newsletter committee. She serves as Chair for the ARMC Wellness Committee and is also a wellness advocate for the county. She also serves on the hospital’s employee Diversity Committee. Rodriguez earned her master’s degree in Humanities at the University of Dallas. For more local news and information click here.
