October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce is bringing the topic close to home with a luncheon focused on business safety concerns. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Express, 25222 Redlands Boulevard in Loma Linda. lomalindachamber.org

For a local business, cybersecurity can sound like a problem reserved for large companies with dedicated technology departments. Yet everyday work often depends on email, online accounts, payment systems and customer records. A suspicious message or a compromised password can interrupt operations and create difficult questions about how information is protected.

The chamber describes its October luncheon as a discussion of cybersecurity awareness and business safety concerns. It offers Loma Linda business owners and community members an opportunity to spend time on an issue that can be easy to postpone while handling the demands of a workday. lomalindachamber.org

The subject also reaches beyond a business’s computers. Employees may need to recognize an unusual request for payment or account information. Managers may need to decide who can access records and what steps to take if a device or account is lost. Customers, meanwhile, depend on businesses to handle their information carefully. Those are useful questions for organizations of any size to consider before a problem occurs.

The October gathering is part of the chamber’s luncheon series, which brings local businesses together around topics relevant to the community. The chamber says it has served Loma Linda since 1959 and works to support its members and the city’s quality of life. lomalindachamber.org

Those interested in attending can find the reservation link on the Loma Linda Chamber of Commerce website. The chamber asks guests to RSVP so it can plan for meals and seating.
